Are you considering jumping on the e-Bike trend? E-bikes help you ride faster and farther than a traditional bike, and make it easier to manage hills and keep up with traffic. With rechargeable batteries and various styles, e-Bikes have without a doubt altered the bike industry forever.
If you are a Minnesota resident looking to save money on a new e-bike, you have the opportunity to apply for a rebate certificate starting June 5th, 2024. The Minnesota Department of Revenue is offering rebates worth 50-75% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum value of $1,500 off the cost of the e-Bike.
How to Apply for the e-Bike Rebate
The online application system will open at 11 AM CT on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
You will need to meet the rebate eligibility requirements and provide your:
- Name and contact information
- Date of birth
- Social Security Number
- Tax filing status
- Adjusted Gross Income
Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited. The application system will automatically close once it reaches 10,000 applications. You will be notified via email if you are approved, waitlisted or denied by July 1, 2024. If you are waitlisted, you may be eligible for the second round of rebates in October.
If approved, you will have 60 days purchase an e-Bike through an approved retailer, like Freewheel Bike.
Promoting Sustainable Transportation
The Minnesota e-Bike Rebate Program will help make e-bikes a more affordable and a viable transportation option for select rebate recipients.
