Sean Boland (CPA) has 25+ years of experience advising in accounting, tax and business operations. As a well-connected professional, he continually uses his network of contacts to find solutions and opportunities for his clients. In 2012, Sean was elected Managing Partner of the firm.

The vision for DSB Rock Island is to remain independent while helping clients grow their businesses, take care of their staff and transition successfully. Sean seeks to build relationships with firm owners/shareholders of CPA firms, wealth management firms, IT management firms, HR or CFO consulting firms. He gets to know these firm leaders to explore how a future with DSB Rock Island could be part of their succession and business continuity plan.

Sean grew up in a large Irish Catholic family in St. Paul. As a Minnesotan, it is no surprise that he enjoys a number of outdoor activities including golf, hockey, motorcycles and hunting. He lives in Apple Valley with his wife and two daughters.

Jon Cassens (CPA) provides business leaders with ongoing guidance to improve their financial reporting and grow their business. Jon’s area of expertise is in working closely with multi-unit franchisees, restaurants, retail and commercial real estate companies to keep their accounting systems running at the speed of business. Jon works with each client and their internal accounting team to customize proforma financial projections for business planning, financing, and developing strategies to help them reach their goals that go beyond filing deadlines.

Jon may be known as an avid golfer, basketball player, and outdoorsman, but his biggest claim to fame are his two beautiful daughters (Hazel, 7 and Eden, 3) and high school sweetheart wife, Jamie.

Jen Verly (CPA) provides in-depth tax and accounting guidance to privately held businesses and their owners. As a leader of the firm and tax department, Jen is highly regarded by her clients for her diligence in working on their unique situations and helping them understand how to use that information to make good decisions. Her favorite part of being a close business advisor to her clients is seeing what matters most to them impacted positively, such as the success of their business and the enrichment of their employees, families and community.

Jen works with clients in a variety of industries including commercial real estate, grocery, retail, restaurants, and professional services. She also specializes in consulting with highly compensated individuals, including tax planning, stock options, and passive investments.

Jen is a Twin Cities native who grew up and currently resides in Lakeville with her husband Michael and their 2 dogs. In her free time, Jen enjoys running and travelling for road races with a goal to run a race in all 50 states.
